The Senate will no longer enforce its historic dress code to accommodate Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) who prefers to wear gym shorts and hoodies on the job.

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) directed the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms to end the chamber’s dress code, the rule will go into effect this week.

“Senators are able to choose what they wear on the Senate floor. I will continue to wear a suit,” said Schumer to Axios Sunday.

Interestingly, the change is only for senators and not staff members.

“Senators can now [wear] whatever they want,” said Fox News journalist Chad Pergram. “However, others entering the chamber must comply with the dress code.”

“Coats/ties for men. Business attire for women.”

Already, many are coming out to slam what’s now being called “The Fetterman Rule.”

“The end of Western Civilization,” said Roger Stone on X.
